Deborah Apps was appointed to the board of the Health Quality Council of Alberta in June 2016, is a member of the Audit and Finance Committee, and serves as the HQCA Board representative on the Health Quality Network. Ms. Apps is currently President & Chief Executive Officer for Trans Canada Trail, and is a charitable sector leader with more than 25 years’ experience in government, healthcare, education, and the arts.
Ms. Apps has a strong record of accomplishment in organizational leadership, strategic planning and change management. Formerly, she was Senior Vice President of Communications and Community Relations for the Calgary Health Region, where she oversaw strategic communications, community outreach and philanthropy; here she was also responsible for regional communications, the Health Region’s rebranding and the Reach! Initiative. Previous to this, Ms. Apps served as the President & Chief Executive Officer of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. Ms. Apps is actively engaged as a volunteer, lending her professional expertise to a number of national initiatives.
