Upcoming Biostatistics Workshops

The University of Calgary is offering two workshops. The first is an introductory level workshop that focuses on basic statistical concepts and methods, and the other has an emphasis on how to systematically and critically appraise statistical aspects of a published article, and to assess the quality of the statistical methodology.

Biostatistics Workshop: Basic Concepts and Methods

Time: Friday April 22, 2016

Location: Health Sciences Centre, 3330 Hospital Drive NW, Calgary

What is this workshop about?

This is an introductory level workshop. You will learn to implement and interpret basic descriptive statistics based on case examples. You will learn the practical skills necessary to import, analyze and visualize data using STATA. No prior statistical software experience is assumed.

Biostatistics Workshop: How to Critically Appraise an Article

What is this workshop about?

With case examples from journal articles, the emphasis of this workshop will be how to systematically and critically appraise statistical aspects of a published article, and to assess the quality of the statistical methodology.
