Mary-Anne Robinson (MSA, BN, RN) was appointed to the board of the Health Quality Council of Alberta in October 2017. Ms. Robinson is currently the Chief Client Engagement Officer with CGFNS International, a global organization that provides credential assessment service for healthcare professionals, and holds NGO consultative status to the United Nations.
She has an extensive healthcare background, including being former CEO with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta; Board Chair of the National Nursing Assessment Service in Canada; Board Director of the Canadian Council of Registered Nurse Regulators; and, Advisor to the Canadian Nurses Association Board of Directors. Previous to this, Ms. Robinson held roles in the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority as Director of Primary Care and Vice President of Primary Health Care, where she directed the implementation of midwifery services, introduced Health Access Centres, launched the Manitoba Provincial Health Call Centre, and ensured the realization of several other community based health initiatives. Ms. Robinson has also held positions in the Manitoba government as the Director of Primary Health Care and Manager of Public Health Services. She began her career as a registered nurse in northern Manitoba providing public health and home care services to urban, rural, and indigenous communities.
Ms. Robinson holds a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Manitoba and a Masters in Health Service Administration from Central Michigan University.
