Shirley Kine was appointed to the Board of the Health Quality Council of Alberta in 2018, and will serve as a member of the Board’s Education Committee. Ms. Kine is currently self employed doing economic development studies, tourism studies, indigenous workplace profiles, and community profiles. She has more than 25 years experience in monitoring social and healthcare trends.
Ms. Kine has a strong record of organizational leadership, governance, strategic planning in complex systems, cost accounting, and data base project management. Formerly, she was the Executive Director for the Adams Lake Indian Band and CEO/Economic Development Officer for the Chiniki First Nation. She is currently a Senator with the University of Calgary.
Shirley’s passions include Indigenous Ways of Knowing, anti-oppressive practice, and complex theory as it applies to trends of the future.
