Geralyn is an educator, trainer/instructor, working with diverse learners in various types of educational environments.  She also volunteers with her church, as an officials’ coordinator for the Lethbridge Amateur Swim Club, and by sitting on Alberta Health Services’ Patient and Family Advisory Group. Geralyn’s background also includes working at Spruce Meadows Stables, for Fish and Wildlife, Parks, and Forestry in various locations in Alberta, and as a teacher in various locations in Alberta and in Ghana.

As a multigenerational caregiver for her family members, Geralyn has seen many aspects of the healthcare system. She joined the Patient and Family Advisory Committee (PFAC) in 2013 to try and help with improvements to the system and to give insight from personal experiences with various healthcare situations. By being a member of the PFAC, she has enjoyed: learning about how the healthcare system works; the relationships with PFAC members, HQCA staff, and medical professionals she has developed; and, giving input to studies and reports.
