From August to October of 2020, the HQCA conducted surveys and in-depth interviews to gather information from residents and their family members about their experiences living in continuing care sites (including designated supportive living and long-term care) during the COVID-19 pandemic. This work was done in partnership with Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services.
Working to inform improvements
The information gathered will be used to better understand what has worked well and what could be improved in continuing care during Alberta’s pandemic response.
The HQCA will share a publicly available provincial report in winter of 2021 that provides the survey results and key findings from the interviews. This report can be used to inform priorities and improvements in continuing care in the months ahead.
