Summary

From April to September 2024, we surveyed home care clients on their experiences with the services they receive. This survey was conducted with the cooperation of Alberta Health Services and Alberta Health.

Currently, we are analyzing findings to combine all the responses into provincial and provider reports (sample size permitting) for continuing care leaders and home care providers to plan and improve services.

Previous Alberta Seniors Home Care Client Experience Surveys
The HQCA conducted home care surveys in 2015 (report released in 2016) and 2018/19 (report released in 2019) that captured feedback from seniors, ages 65 and older, about their experience with long term supportive or maintenance home care services.

Alberta Continuing Care Act language effective April 1, 2024.  Historical references to home care and facility-based continuing care (including home care, designated supportive living, and long term care) may not reflect the updated language or terms found in the new Alberta Continuing Care Act.
